That is the first time I have ever heard of a patient
a) cite circumcision as previous Sx hx
b) describe it that way.
Awesome.
Thorough is right. I'll have to add that to my list of 'surgeries no one will ever need to know about', which was mainly tonsils/adenoids.
Well, I guess you can't get any more clear than that!
He is obviously still 'smarting' from the ordeal....
Well..... You DID ask.........
I'll have to remember that one.
Don't tell the insurance companies they might start denying coverage for not disclosing previous conditions and procedures.
But then, you ask a patient if they've had any surgery. response:No
I'm do ultrasound, and I'm either searching like crazy for the gall bladder or the uterus.
Ah, no surgeries????
Oh, ya, I had my gall bladder (uterus) out, but that was a long time ago.
Well, I don't think it grew back!!!
"And then, sixty years later, my insurance refused to cover my urologist because they claimed I had a pre-existing condition."
Funny the way the dude said it, but I know all too well how surgeries can trail you for the rest of your life. I, too, had a procedure as a little bitty baby, but it wasn't nearly as innocuous as a circumcision, and if I ever had need for a neurologist, they'd certainly be interested in that non-functioning shunt in my brain... The temptation to say "no" to that question of surgery has been great on occasion, but the wannabe physician in me won't let that ever happen.
Thats no minor procedure! I had that done, too, and I couldn't walk for a YEAR after it!
Oh , I like it . :)
Hey, at least he didn't have it at 13 like my late brother! My mom didn't have either of my brothers circumcised because it would have meant staying in the hospital an extra day (which made no sense to me). Unfortunately when my late brother hit puberty his foreskin didn't grow. OW! I went for the Bell method so as to prevent the possibility as well as to keep my son from wondering why he was different from his father, whom I felt would be absolutely no help in teaching proper cleanliness.
Heck I even tell them about having my wisdom teeth cut out of me. They asked.... If I was knocked out, it counts. ;)
Oh yeah, I should add in the surgery where they took out 8 teeth to prepare me for braces. meh That puts me up to 15 surgeries. Wheeeee! At least I've only woken up during two of them! ::grin::
I always wonder if I need to write that I had my adenoids out as a kid...
I had a doctor say "I see you've had a tonsillectomy" when I haven't! Apparently my tonsils have just disappeared of their own accord.
Oh, Lord.
Please tell me to stopped for a laugh.
Technically, he also had his umbilicus severed.
