The thin mint pugilist is reported to weigh 400 pounds, no lie.

Fighting over "Thin Mints" is so counter productive, Samoas and Tagalongs yes--Thin Mints no way.
Well, they ARE $4.00 a friggin' box, so I can almost understand the upset. ;) When I sold them they were only .75 a box. I bought only 2 boxes this year and think I won't buy any next year. They are good, but come on...I spent $8.00 on cookies? I must be nuts.
Did you see the comments?
Bwhahahaha
I Pelage the Legions to the flag of the Offended States of 'Merica.
Don't get me wrong, I do love Thin Mints, BUT I do not see paying that much for however few cookies you get. I discovered Keebler Fudge Shoppe Grasshoppers are just as good for a lot less money! The grocery store has regular sales where you can get them for around $2.00!
So which one of them is suing the Girl Scouts? You know it's coming.
A cynic is a man who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing. Oscar Wilde
Folks it is Girl Scouts for criminee sakes. There are a couple of things that never get a turn down for me. Scouts, Volunteer Firemen, the Ambulance Corp and the homeless guy on the street. There but for.....
If Thin Mints are outlawed, only outlaws will have Thin Mints.
@C Said... I nearly lost it over the "pelage of legions." Reminds me of a food blog commentor extolling the virtues of "Flamenons."
Yeah anonymous, it's the girl scouts, but they're still damn expensive cookies! I know girl scout leaders who won't even buy them! The local troops only get 10 - 15 percent of each box sold.
In case anyone feels like buying me some, my favorites are the Samoas or Caramel deLites, depending on what state you are in. Man, those are soooo good.
I was a girl scout for 11 years. Grades 2 (they didn't have Daisy's then, had to start in 2nd grade as a Brownie) through 12, then I worked (paid job!) for the council for a year and had to register as a scout in order to get paid. Job was interesting...I worked with inner city girls in non-traditional troops. Parents were drug deals and prostitutes and we were located in a scary part of town but I never felt unsafe. The parents knew me because I worked with their kids and they liked me. Nobody was going to let anything happen to me.
Anyway, I just got off track there. And I think I want a cookie.
Nothing beats thin mints.
(Sigh)
You're not paying just for the box of cookies guys ... they have always been more expensive than (most) store cookies for a reason.
"Hey, doc, sorry to wake you up at this hour. You don't know me, but my cousin's brother-in-law works with one of your patients. Or something like that. Anyway, can I have a script for some Thin Mints and some Samoas?"
I'd rather just give them cash. They'd end up with more. And no cookie fights! lol
Who steals my purse steals trash; 'tis something, nothing;
'Twas mine, 'tis his, and has been slave to thousands;
But he that filches from me my Thin Mints
Robs me of that which not enriches him,
And makes me poor indeed.
As far as I know, you can just give cash. I was a troop leader for my daughter for a number of years and pushed the Gift of Caring where you can pony up the money (currently $3.50 in our council in Middle TN) to donate a box to a non-profit group. This year the council is donating to the soldiers at Fort Campbill. In years past they've donated to the local food bank, the Red Cross and so on.
comashl - what I go into after a couple of boxes of Tagalongs... mmmmm
As a former Girl Scout, regardless of my fondness for Thin Mints, I will not buy them.
The girls get tiny profits from all that work--it goes mostly to cover the expenses of the ridiculous bureaucracy.
Hand the girls some cold hard cash and save your waistline.
